P180 for New Teachers

Support for every one of a new teacher’s first 180 days.

Project 180 supports new teachers from Day 1 and all year long. It combines live PD, mentoring, and an on-demand app, led by nationally-recognized, currently in-the-classroom educators and Teachers of the Year.

The problem

Day one comes fast. Readiness takes longer.

New teachers come from traditional programs, alternative routes, and other careers. They all face the same first-year reality: routines to build, behavior to manage, and a room full of students from the first bell. Orientation helps for a week. The first year takes 180 days.

The solution

Veteran support from orientation to the last day of school

What P180 is

Three kinds of support for the entire 180 days of the year

  1. Live PD

On-site, virtual, or both, at orientation and on your PD days. Led by veteran educators and Teachers of the Year.

  2. Mentoring

1:1 time with a P180 veteran, small-group coaching, and tools for your campus mentors. We combine them to fit your district.

  3. The P180 app

Short articles and videos from our speakers, available the night before a hard lesson, not three weeks later on the next PD day.

Each channel reinforces the others, so support never ends after one session.

The 180-day arc

Support that doesn’t fade after August.

[Phase details are placeholders until the P180 team confirms them]

Mentoring · mentor matches made, first check-in

App · access set up with first-week essentials

  2. First semester

    Mentoring · regular 1:1 and small-group check-ins

App · just-in-time help for hard days

  3. Second semester

Live PD · sessions for the spring stretch

    Mentoring · ongoing check-ins and year-one reflection

Works with what you already have

Built to add to your induction program, not replace it.

P180 fits around your existing mentors, orientation, and PD calendar. Many partners use it to give campus mentors more tools and new teachers more support between check-ins.

  • Your campus mentors + P180 mentoring tools
  • Your PD calendar + P180 sessions

FAQ

Questions districts ask

We already have an induction or mentoring program. Does P180 replace it?

No. P180 is built to add to what you already run. It fits around your orientation, PD calendar, and campus mentors, and it can give those mentors more tools. New teachers get more support between check-ins, and nobody has to start over.

How do districts pay for P180?

Many partners use federal and state professional development funds. Our team will help you find the right funding source for your district. Pricing depends on the size of your cohort and the mix of events, mentoring, and app access you choose.

Our new teachers are already overwhelmed. Isn’t this one more thing?

P180 is designed to take weight off, not add it. Live sessions use time you’ve already set aside for orientation and PD. App content is short and there when a teacher needs it. Mentoring gives them someone to ask instead of something to do.

Is P180 in person or virtual?

Both, and you choose. Live PD can happen on-site, virtually, or as a mix.

Who leads P180?

Veteran educators and Teachers of the Year. Meet them on the Speakers page.

What does it cost?

Each partnership is tailored to the district or program. Tell us about your new teachers and we’ll put together options.
