About Katie
Katie Collins is the 2026 Alabama Teacher of the Year and a 2026 National Teacher of the Year finalist. She has spent more than two decades in settings from pre-K to adult education as a French, ESL, and elementary teacher.
A proud National Board Certified teacher, Katie is known for innovative project-based learning and for co-founding the Communities Family Literacy Program. Beyond the classroom, she is a mom of four and co-hosts the podcast Driving Education.
